EAEU–UAE trade agreement took effect on October 6
On October 6, 2026, the Economic Partnership Agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and the UAE came into force. Kazakhstan is an EAEU member, so companies trading with the Emirates can now work under tariff preferences. To claim them, a certificate has to be issued, and the procedure for getting it is what the Atameken article walks through.
Preferences mean a favorable duty regime for goods, but the agreement taking effect does not change anything by itself: without a properly issued certificate, the benefit does not apply. That makes an error or delay in the paperwork a direct cost, since the company pays duty at the regular rate or loses on price to competitors.
Check which of your goods go to the UAE or come from there, and name one person responsible for obtaining the certificate. Find out in advance which documents it requires and assemble them into a single package, rather than piece by piece on the day of shipment. That package is easy to run through an approval route with a decision history: in 1Cifer, an agent passes documents from the manager to the accountant and the director and flags delays.
