Sophos cuts threat investigation time by 96% with OpenAI

Sophos, a cybersecurity company, has shared how it uses OpenAI Daybreak to investigate cyber threats. According to OpenAI, investigation time fell by 96%, and 52% of cases in Sophos's MDR service (managed detection and response) were automated.

The key detail is that human oversight stays in place. AI handles the routine part of the investigation, while specialists remain responsible for the conclusions. That is what makes the speed-up trustworthy: the machine does not replace the expert, it frees up their time for the hard cases.

Check which repetitive reviews in your company eat up hours: vetting suspicious payments, reconciling bank statements, processing standard requests. Then mark the ones where a person must make the final call, because that is where automation should be designed around. 1Cifer agents compare periods on their own and flag anomalies across 1C, bank and CRM data, while the decision stays with the manager.
